The Insider Scoop: A Caterers Perspective

When it comes to sourcing the perfect dream team of vendors, especially caterers, you will want to make sure you are asking the RIGHT questions. Wining and dining your guests is not only the biggest cost for your wedding, but it is one of the most important vendors you will book.

When trying to find the right caterer for your wedding, there are lots of things you should consider before booking. Not only will you want to taste the food, you will want to look through their menu offerings as well as styles of dinner service as well as examine the overall budget and price point per head.

When the time comes to chat with your vendors, our couples frequently ask us “What SHOULD I be asking this vendor when chatting with them?”.

We wanted to flip the perspective on this topic & give y’all an INSIDERS PERSPECTIVE on what wedding vendors would ask themselves before booking.

The second vendor to give us the insider scoop is Louise from The Peached Tortilla!

  1. What sets you apart from other catering companies? If you want your wedding guests to get a taste of Austin, The Peached Tortilla is your caterer! You can keep it fun and casual with crunchy fish tacos, BBQ brisket sliders, and Belgian fries served from our food truck or you go the more upscale route with our family style or plated options like Korean braised short ribs, bacon jam brussels sprouts, and wasabi mashed potatoes. You can even choose an interactive experience and pick a few of our dinner stations like the Taco Bar, Ramen Bar, or Steamed Bun Bar! Our food is flavorful, colorful, and unique and our custom cocktails are the best in town! Our goal is for your guests to talk about the spectacular food, beverages, and service at your wedding long after the sparkler exit!
  2. What makes full-service catering different from restaurant catering? With full-serving catering, one of our Catering Sales & Event Coordinators will work with you in the months leading up to your wedding to come up with the perfect menu and to coordinate all of the food and beverage logistics. On the day of the wedding, we arrive at least 2 hours prior to the ceremony so our chefs can set up a mobile kitchen at your venue to ensure that the food is served hot and fresh to your guests. Our friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff set the place settings, pass appetizers, serve the meal, mix cocktails, keep trash and used dishes out of sight, and work diligently to ensure that your wedding runs smoothly from start to finish!
  3. What does your average couple spend?: For full-service catering, our all-inclusive pricing starts at approximately $65-75/person and is adjusted based on the length of the wedding, the service style, the menu, the bar package, the venue requirements, etc. Our average couple spends $85/guest.

If you are on the hunt for a caterer who does it all, look no further than Peached Tortilla! We promise you, you will not be disappointed!
